A Dunedin drink driver has been dobbed in by a collision alert from his own iPhone

A Dunedin drink driver has been dobbed in by a collision alert from his own iPhone

Sergeant Matt Lee has told the ODT, police were alerted to an anonymous vehicle collision alert from a phone on Main South Road, near the Concord Inn pub, at 2am.

He says officers arrived to find an uninjured 22-year-old stumbling near a crashed car.

The man admitted drinking 15 RTDs, before crashing into a truck and trailer, while speeding, and looking at his phone.
