Hamilton's Mayor says the city's diversity is likely its economic strength

Hamilton's Mayor says the city's diversity is likely its economic strength

A report shows it has the strongest GDP for a New Zealand city.

It's risen 4.3 percent since 2019 -- in contrast to 3.3 for Wellington, 3.1 for Christchurch and 0.4 for Auckland.

Paula Southgate says the city's economy is getting a boost from its growing tech sector, with seven or eight companies that rank big in the international scene.
