Roadworks company Fulton Hogan has been charged over a road worker's death in Hamilton last year

Roadworks company Fulton Hogan has been charged over a road worker's death in Hamilton last year

Brian Barnes was hit by a speeding truck while moving cones at a repair site and the driver's been sentenced for careless driving.

WorkSafe says the contractor's liable under three sections of health and safety law - and accuses Fulton Hogan of failing to protect workers from a risk of death or serious injury from moving vehicles.

It's also filed similar charges against Independent Traffic Control Limited.
