Several people are appearing in court this morning -- in relation to a large-scale international police operation against organised crime

They're facing a range of serious drug dealing and money laundering charges.

Police have executed a number of search warrants in Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, the central North Island and Wellington.

A 41-year-old man is appearing in Hamilton District Court on 68 charges, ranging from money laundering to importing methamphetamine and MDMA.

There's also an extremely heavy Police presence at Auckland District Court, where others are due to appear shortly.

Australian media report the operation involved members of the Australian Federal Police working with overseas authorities, including the FBI, for up to three years.

New Zealand Police are expected to provide further details later this morning.
