An appeal for any pictures and videos of last Wednesday's fatal police shooting in Hamilton

A man died after an exchange of shots between Police and a man with a military-style semi-automatic firearm in the suburb of Hillcrest.

Police say anyone who was in the Hillcrest Road and O'Donoghue Street areas between 10 and 10.30pm and captured footage can upload it to an online portal.

The officer injured in a fall during the incident is in a stable condition and is expected to be released from hospital within the next few days.
