The 10-man Wellington Phoenix men have stunned Brisbane 3-0 in the A-League, despite winger Carlo Armiento being given a red card in the 38th minute

The Phoenix, 10th before the match, moved into eighth while the third-placed Roar threw away a golden chance to provisionally go top of the table.

Sydney FC have also let a chance to move top of ladder slip...holding out for a nil-nil draw against Melbourne City .

Auckland FC remain top by a solitary point.
