More delays could be on the cards for the new Peka Peka to Otaki expressway, north of Wellington

The 13-kilometre, four-lane bypass of Otaki was meant to open two years ago but was pushed back towards the end of this year.

Covid-19, the delivery of materials, and weather have affected work on the project and Waka Kotahi has advised it's assessing what that means for the opening date.

By March this year, 372-million had been spent ... with an expected total cost of 445-million.
