Young artists are a key focus this year as Wellington's biggest community arts trail gets underway today

Young artists are a key focus this year as Wellington's biggest community arts trail gets underway today

The South Coast Arts Trail runs from Owhiro Bay up to Berhampore, displaying 80 local artists - with the youngest being just three-years-old.

Art forms including paintings, sculptures, and textiles will be on display.

Event Chair Fran De Gregorio says art will be exhibited by students from local schools and early education centres.

She says creativity is really important for young people, and this is a chance for them to go into studios and be inspired.
