The hunt continues for a man believed to be responsible for an assault in South Auckland which forced several schools into lockdown

The hunt continues for a man believed to be responsible for an assault in South Auckland which forced several schools into lockdown

Police say they were called to Papakura just after 11.30am yesterday where a man was found seriously injured outside a business on Settlement Road.

The nearby Papakura Intermediate and other nearby schools temporarily went into lockdown while police searched for a person who fled the scene after the attack.

He's been described as wearing all black and possibly carrying a light-coloured backpack.

The injured man was taken to Middlemore Hospital.
