The Green Party co-leader has confirmed to Newstalk ZB's she's going list-only at this election so she can prioritise her ministerial work.
Political Editor Jason Walls believes that could signal that Davidson is confident the Greens will return to Parliament with enough support to form a coalition with Labour.
Walls says Davidson's made it clear she wants to be a Minister.
Her move could also be seen as a way to make an easy exit from politics, if the Greens are forced into opposition.
Labour's Peeni Henare last won the seat with a comfortable majority.
