Te Pati Maori says lowering the threshold for getting into Parliament would enhance diversity

It's among recommendations by the Independent Electoral Review Panel -- along with lowering the voting age to 16, capping political donations and holding a referendum on four-year parliamentary terms.
Maori party co-leader Rawiri Waititi says looking at current polling, a three-point-five percent polling entry point to Parliament - up from five - would suit them.
He says it needs to be fairer for minor parties to enter Parliament, to ensure diverse representation.
