Chris Luxon says this weekend's hui - called for by the Maori King - isn't about politicians

National's annual caucus retreat in Christchurch winds up today.

The Kingitanga hui's said to be a platform for Maori to respond to the new Coalition Government's plans.

Luxon says he's all for it, but won't attend himself, as politicians aren't front and centre.

He says this is about bringing Maoridom together, to have a broader conversation about where Maori are going.
