Senior Maori Minister Shane Jones does not appear fazed by a frosty reception for the Government at Waitangi

Senior Maori Minister Shane Jones does not appear fazed by a frosty reception for the Government at Waitangi

Thousands are already at the Treaty Grounds, with thousands more expected ahead of tomorrow's celebrations and commemorations.

Many are critical of the Government's approach to Maori issues.

But Jones is not worried about the opposition.

He says politics is a place you shouldn't look for gratitude - and his Government has put its reputation on the line, to try and deliver practical solutions for Maori.
