    A member of one of the country's most prominent Maori activist families has been found guilty of historical child sexual abuse


    Taiawa Harawira is the brother of former MP Hone Harawira, and son of social justice icon Titewhai Harawira.

    A jury at the Auckland District Court's found him guilty of two charges of rape and four charges of indecent assault on a girl under 12.

    He was acquitted on two counts of indecent assault and one count of threatening to kill.

    Harawira will be sentenced next month.
