Praise from a Maori Health expert over amendments to the Healthy Futures Act

Praise from a Maori Health expert over amendments to the Healthy Futures Act

The Government's changes include making health targets law, establishing an infrastructure committee, and having the Hauora Maori Advisory Committee provide national level advice to officials.

Iwi-Maori Partnership Boards will also shift, to engaging with communities.

AUT Maori Advancement Associate Dean Denise Wilson, says it's a good outcome and will help to address challenges Maori face.

Wilson says getting very good advice from knowlegable people who work in Maori health across Aotearoa is really important.
