Two Rotorua lines workers are being called heroes - for rescuing a woman in a flooding car

Her car was stuck in floodwaters on Waikaukau Road and the driver called emergency services, as the water rose and jammed her doors.

Two workers saw her plight and jumped in the water, smashing a window and pulling her to safety.

The car submerged to the roof moments later..

Police says without their quick action, things could have easily gone badly.
