A paedophile teacher from Kaitaia has had his parole bid declined

A paedophile teacher from Kaitaia has had his parole bid declined

James Robertson Parker appeared before the Parole Board for the third time today, and says treatment behind bars has turned his life around.

Parker was sentenced in 2013 to preventative detention after admitting 74 charges of sexually abusing boys aged between nine and 16.

The offending happened over 13 years - mostly at Pamapuria School where he was deputy principal.

The board will see Parker again in March.
