A fatal shooting has left the Coromandel community in shock

Emergency services found two people with gunshot wounds at the 309 Road yesterday afternoon.

One person died at the scene...a second was flown to Auckland Hospital.

A person is in custody and police are not looking for anyone else.

Mayor Len Salt says an incident like this is very rare in their community and believes it is an isolated one.
