There's international shock over a toddler being found in a suitcase in a bus in Northland yesterday afternoon

There's international shock over a toddler being found in a suitcase in a bus in Northland yesterday afternoon

The two-year-old girl was discovered by the bus driver in the luggage department during a planned stop in small town Kaiwaka, after he noticed the bag moving.

She was unharmed but very hot - and was taken to hospital.

A 27-year-old woman's due to appear in North Shore District Court today, charged with neglect.

Newstalk ZB's Lachlan Rennie says the incident has turned a lot of heads.

He says a lot of global media have picked up the story, including BBC, the Guardian and CBS.
