    More than 54-thousand homes could be powered by a new 487 million dollar solar project in Waikato


    Genesis Energy's announced plans to acquire and develop a new solar farm near Rangiriri.

    The consented site is located between Auckland and Transpower's planned new substation at Glen Murray, and close to Genesis's battery project at Huntly Power Station.

    It will be one of the country's largest and most advanced renewable energy projects.
