    A Northland woman's been sentenced to eight months home detention for dishonestly getting Covid support


    Amiria Ihaka applied for relief she knew she wasn't entitled to, five times between February 2022 and April 2023.

    She also filed a GST return with false information, ultimately getting 35-thousand dollars from Inland Revenue.

    Analysis of her bank accounts showed it was spent on personal items.

    She was sentenced in the Auckland District Court yesterday after pleading guilty to representative charges.
