Areas surrounding the base of Mount Maunganui remain off-limits, and geotechnical experts warn the risk of more slips is still high

The Pilot Bay boat ramp is closed for the foreseeable future, and the Lifeguard Service building has been red-stickered.

She says the mount has 40 landslips - including 29 on the base track - so Mauao also remains closed.
