Open Justice reports Kairoa McLean fraudulently received 60-thousand dollars from his late grandparents' superannuation funds in 2022.
It was found he forged documents and made false declarations to apply for a certificate of administration.
After facing charges, McLean resigned from his position at Aorangi School last year.
At the Rotorua District Court, the judge acknowledged he'd made amends since the offending - and sentenced McLean to six months home detention.
