    Hobson's Pledge is defending its decision to use Rotorua's Mayor in its campaign against Maori wards, without her permission


    Tania Tapsell's slamming the lobby group, saying they've completely taken her words out of context and misrepresented her position on the discussion.

    Hobson's Pledge spokesperson Elliot Ikilei , says they feel comfortable continuing to use the ad.

    Ikilei says she's welcome to change her viewpoint, and they made sure they weren't inaccurate with her words.

    Tapsell says her past comments related to her belief Rotorua didn't need wards at the time.

    She says supports wards for communities that want and need them.
