More than 1000 people have made a chain around Nelson Hospital today, to demand funding for better care

Nelson residents have gone hand-in-hand with members of the Nurses Organisation and other unions.

They're appealing to the Government for more funding, and a commitment to building a new hospital - so care can improve

NZ Nurses Organisation Delegate Amanda Field, says she was emotional at the amount of support today.

She says it took 20 minutes for people to get around the hospital - and watching it was indescribable.
