More space in Dunedin for dogs to be able to run free

More space in Dunedin for dogs to be able to run free

City councillors have approved consultation on changes to its dog control bylaw and policy.

Proposed changes include allowing dogs on leads in the Octagon, and improving the recreational needs of canines, and their owners.

Council compliance solutions manager Ros MacGill says there's been public support for more spaces for dogs in the city.

She says the intention's to create more spaces where dogs can roam freely.
