    A 19-year-old has been arrested following a series of vehicle thefts in Alexandra over the last year


    He's been charged with eight counts of unlawfully taking a vehicle and one count of careless driving.

    Alexandra Police Constable Sophie Mcskimming says it's a timely reminder to make sure your vehicle is secure in a garage or locked.

    The man is due to appear in Alexandra District Court next month.
