Roy Krishna has called for A-League franchises to put more faith in Pacific Island players

The Fijian's been named the competition's best footballer, crowned as the Johnny Warren medallist.

The 31-year-old striker's 18 goals also claimed the competition's golden boot.

He says there are stacks more players who are better than him in the islands, and they need coaches like former Phoenix mentor Mark Rudan to get the best out of them.

George Bennett has slipped one place to 10th overall after stage two of the Tour of California.

Bennett also finished 10th on the stage, 31 seconds behind stage winner Kasper Asgreen of Denmark.

American Tejay Van Garderen has taken the overall leader's yellow jersey, with Bennett 36 seconds back.

Poor conditions have forced organisers to delay the second day's action at the World Surf League event in Bali.

The next call will be made around five o'clock this afternoon.

Kiwis Riccardo Christie and Paige Hareb are competing.
