Central Otago District Council's reviewed allegations of misconduct about a new councillor, from seven years ago

There've been claims Dave McKenzie was involved in unethical conduct, while working as a contractor for the council - allegedly altering contractors' invoices for personal gain.
Chief Executive Peter Kelly says the findings from a 2019 investigation, have been reviewed.
He says it was deemed there wasn't sufficient evidence to meet the legal threshold for further action, and given it would have been costly to take it further, the matter was closed.
He says an audit, from 2022, confirms council's processes have since improved.
