    A regional freight hub being built near Palmerston North is being dubbed a significant milestone


    The Government's investing 40 million dollars through the Provincial Growth Fund into the two point five kilometre road-rail hub - to deal with growing freight volumes in the lower North Island.

    KiwiRail Group Chief Executive Greg Miller says it will have huge long-term benefits for Palmerston North and the wider Manawatu.

    He wants to ensure locals are involved in finalising the design.
