Napier Port's underlying profit is down 32.1 percent in the first half of the financial year

Napier Port's underlying profit is down 32.1 percent in the first half of the financial year

It fell from more than 10-million-dollars, to 7.2-million-dollars... in the six months to March 31.

The net profit fell 15 percent to nine-million-dollars.

The company says lower trade volumes and a Covid-related fall in ship calls drove the drop.

It says demand for the region's food and fibre exports is robust, but the impact of labour shortages and supply chain disruption is uncertain.

It will still pay a 2.8 percent dividend.
