The Government's aiming to remove employment barriers - as changes to financial supports for people needing to move to find a job, take effect today

The Government's aiming to remove employment barriers - as changes to financial supports for people needing to move to find a job, take effect today

Social Development and Employment Minister Louise Upston's scrapped the grant of five thousand dollars if you had to relocate for work - replacing the flat rate with a more targeted scheme.

The new Relocate for Work Support payment depends on the number of people moving, means of travel and the costs of transporting possessions.

The maximum amount provided is two thousand dollars for a single adult, three thousand for a couple and five thousand where there are dependent children.
