Our property market could feel the effects of rising trade uncertainty in one way or another

Our property market could feel the effects of rising trade uncertainty in one way or another

Global business confidence is crumbling - due to the on-and-off implementation of US President Donald Trump's tariff policy.

LJ Hooker Head of Network Campbell Dunoon, says first home buyers in particular are already being more cautious about how much they can put towards a deposit - due to KiwiSaver taking a hit.

But he says at the same time, there tends to be movement towards property, when the sharemarket's volatile.

Dunoon says that's likely because property's less about wild price swings and more about long term stability.
