The future of Christchurch's water services is under the spotlight

The future of Christchurch's water services is under the spotlight

The City Council is set to consider which delivery model to include as part of the council's Water Services Delivery Plan.

The community has given feedback on three options including an in-house delivery model, or either a Three or Two-Waters Council-Controlled Organisations.

Eighty percent of submissions support the in-house model.

City Infrastructure General Manager Brent Smith says residents made it clear they value local control, public ownership, and cost-effectiveness.
