Secondary school teachers will go ahead with strike action next week, despite a pay offer on Friday

Secondary school teachers will go ahead with strike action next week, despite a pay offer on Friday

A rpartial strike starting on Tuesday will see teachers only teach certain year levels on certain days.

They'll also carry out a full-day national strike on October 23, and a two hour strike on November 5.

Public Service Commissioner Sir Brian Roche says they've sought to remedy all issues that have been raised.

PPTA President Chris Abercrombie, says the Government's latest offer came just ten minutes before a meeting to discuss strike action.

He says it felt very rushed - so a lot of things in the offer were worse than what teachers have now.
