The winter holiday sector is looking at a return to pre-pandemic levels

Holiday home providers Bachcare say ski area bookings are up 103 per cent - on pre Covid-19 levels.

Wanaka is even at 85 per cent of capacity.

Bachcare general manager Matthew Clews says Queenstown is up 115 per cent on 2019 numbers - with Ruapehu up 85 per cent.

He says it's clear Australians are gaining more confidence to make bookings.
