Confidence from the Government that 30-billion dollars is enough investment for the health system

Confidence from the Government that 30-billion dollars is enough investment for the health system

Budget documents show Treasury has warned health costs are likely to rise more quickly than inflation, as people grow older.

Earlier this year, the Health NZ board was sacked and replaced with a commissioner - after concerns around a forecast deficit to the tune of more than a billion dollars.

Health Minister Dr Shane Reti says health IS funded enough.

He says they're just not spending it well - but admits every health system in the world would like to have more funding.
