A report shows more Maori land's being dedicated to commercial horticulture use

The report commissioned by Horticulture New Zealand shows Maori land represents roughly seven percent of total fruit and vegetables land in the country.

It's a rise of more than 50 percent since 2017.

Chief Executive Kate Scott, says the figures are notable, considering there's been a decline in the amount of land in horticulture.

She says the ability for Maori owned land to be used in a way that's delivering for them and their people is something we should all celebrate.
