    Black Caps coach Rob Walter is optimistic his number one-ranked 50-over batter will be ready for the first test match against the West Indies in Christchurch


    Daryl Mitchell's been selected in the 14-strong squad, alongside Kane Williamson, after missing games in the ODI series with a groin injury.

    Walter says Mitchell's on the right path to don the whites at Hagley Oval next week.
