It appears Australian oval ball code flyer Mark Nawaqanitawase is heading back to rugby union

The Sydney Morning Herald are reporting the 24-year-old will leave the Roosters league side after the upcoming NRL season and join a division one Japanese rugby team on a two-year deal worth more than two million dollars.

The dual-code international produced a strong debut NRL season in 2025 - making the move to the 13-man game after collecting 11 caps for the Wallabies between 2022 and 2024.

It's believed the Roosters are open to a return for Nawaqanitawase after his rugby deal in Japan ends.
