Former Black Caps coach Mike Hesson has endorsed the hosts' decision to run with four seamers for the second cricket test against England starting today in Wellington

The hosts have left out spinner Mitchell Santner after assessing the Basin Reserve pitch, which offered some rare turn last summer.

Hesson says New Zealand will be confident with their current options.

First ball is at 11 - a fine day with morning cloud is expected in the capital.
