Boxer Mea Motu has disclosed the impact of her respiratory issues on her world title unification loss to Ellie Scotney in England

The former IBO world champion was hospitalised with pneumonia and deep vein thrombosis upon her return to New Zealand earlier this week.

Motu - who has a history of asthma - says her body started to break down in the lead-up to - and during - the title bout.

Big raps for Kirwee RFC from the Super Rugby Pacific champions.

The Blues came to the Canterbury outpost today for a pre-season game against the Crusaders, which they won 35-19.

The crowd of more than 3000 people was nearly triple Kirwee's population ... Blues assistant coach Jason O'Halloran full of praise for the pitch and the venue.

Otago Volts pace bowler Jacob Duffy has joined the Black Caps one-day squad for the upcoming Tri Series in Pakistan, starting next weekend in Lahore.

Duffy comes in as cover for Lockie Ferguson, who is currently playing in the I.L.T20 in the UAE.

Dame Sophie Pascoe's former coach believes she is destined to help future swimmers after announcing her retirement.

The 32-year-old earned 19 medals, including 11 gold, from four Paralympics.

Roly Crichton says Pascoe will continue to build a legacy out of the pool.
