A hat-trick to fullback Kaeo Weekes has helped Canberra hold on for a 28-24 home victory over the Dragons.

Still with two byes to come - the Raiders are two points clear of the Storm - who jumped up one spot into second with a 26-20 win away to the Cowboys.

With both sides decimated by State of Origin duties and injury - Melbourne came from behind early in the second half as returning fullback Nick Meaney starred with two tries and four conversions.
