Auckland FC attacker Logan Rogerson is expecting their new English target-man to succeed ahead of tonight's A-League football season opener away at Melbourne Victory

Auckland FC attacker Logan Rogerson is expecting their new English target-man to succeed ahead of tonight's A-League football season opener away at Melbourne Victory

Sam Cosgrove, who stands at about 1.92 metres or six foot three, joined the club from English League One outfit Barnsley, and has had stints at Stockport, Birmingham and Aberdeen in Scotland.

It's expected he'll start at striker alongside Jesse Randall - where Rogerson reckons he'll fit right in.

    Kickoff's at 9.35pm.
