Rugby league's NRL has issued breach notices to the Sydney Roosters in relation to salary cap overspend and the Melbourne Storm in relation to team selection protocols

Rugby league's NRL has issued breach notices to the Sydney Roosters in relation to salary cap overspend and the Melbourne Storm in relation to team selection protocols

The Chooks overspent by forty-four thousand dollars on their supplementary list and training wage salary cap...and will be fined a similar amount, as well as having their additional spend taken off this year's cap.

The Melbourne Storm didn't follow due process around team selections on at least two separate occasions in 2025, relating to a player who was on a training contract.

The NRL propose to issue the Storm with a fine of twenty-eight thousand dollars - half of which will be suspended for two years.
