Porirua will have to wait before its new council is sworn in, as a losing candidate requests a recount

Porirua will have to wait before its new council is sworn in, as a losing candidate requests a recount

Parirua Maori Ward candidate Jess Te Huia missed out by just 11 votes, and has filed a recount application with the District Court.

The council is unable to meet until the court's made its decision, which it says is likely to be late November at the earliest.
