A Canadian Billionaire making moves on the board of publisher, NZME, is responding to union concerns

Jim Grenon holds 9.3 percent shares in the media company - which owns Newstalk ZB, BusinessDesk and the Herald.

E tu has asked for assurances journalists' editorial independence won't be affected.

NZME Editor at Large, Shayne Currie, says Grenon wants NZME to release his statement to the company.
