Industrial and commercial gas users are struggling with the energy transition, as they grapple with surging prices

Industrial and commercial gas users are struggling with the energy transition, as they grapple with surging prices

A joint survey by Business NZ and Energy management company Optima , finds nearly half of businesses don't think it's practical to move to alternative fuels over the next five years.

Nearly half report having to make cuts as a result of higher prices.

Business NZ Energy Council Executive Director Tina Schirr says they're exploring how they can manage the transition with the Government.

She says the options include having officials going on site and giving businesses ideas or concessional loans.
