Another international relations expert's loading criticism, onto the Government's decision not to recognise Palestinian statehood

Foreign Minister Winston Peters confirmed at the United Nations New Zealand isn't ready to make the call, due to Hamas' position in the region.

Otago University International Relations Professor, Robert Patman, says the Government's made the wrong move.

He says it's a desperate situation in Gaza, and New Zealand's always stood very strongly to uphold international law.

Patman says he thought it was time for us to indicate our disapproval of Israel's illegal actions.
