Criticism of the government's pay parity scheme for early childhood providers

Criticism of the government's pay parity scheme for early childhood providers

The government announced 170 million dollars toward pay rises for early childhood teachers.

But the Early Childhood Council says the funding falls short and providers will have to make up the difference.

They say it could be thousands of dollars for some providers.

CEO Peter Reynolds says he's worried about centres that can't make up the difference.

He says we have already seen a number of centres close down.
